Budget Vacation Ideas

Traveling is one of the best things you can do for yourself. It gives you time to explore, relax, and make new memories.

As a college student who loves to travel, I can definitely say that the one thing that has always stopped me from going to new places is money!

While I’ve always been a little hesitant to go new places because of it, I’ve learned that you can still take spontaneous trips without breaking the bank.

Here are some budget vacation ideas that everyone can afford!

1. New Jersey

Since I live in New York, going to New Jersey has always been something that my family has done.

We personally go to Lavallette, which is a cute beach town on the shore, but there are so many other places you can go as well.

There are a bunch of towns with great restaurants, bars, and beaches. It makes for a perfect summertime getaway, for a low price.

2. Nashville, Tennessee

For all the country music lovers out there, Nashville is another cheap and fun vacation idea.

If you don’t have the funds to fly, try turning this vacation idea into a road trip! While I’ve never actually been to Nashville, I’ve looked into going there many times.

If you are into Southern food and live music, this is absolutely the place for you.

3. Florida

This year, I’ve traveled to Florida twice and for a cheap cost. One of the great things about Florida is that it’s hot all year round so personally I like to travel here to escape the cold New England winters.

Florida is filled with so many cool places and no matter where you go you’ll end up near a beautiful beach!

4. San Juan, Puerto Rico

If you are looking to get out of the states and want more of the Caribbean vibe, San Juan Puerto Rico may be for you.

Believe it or not, most round trip air fair to San Juan shouldn’t cost you more than $500! If you choose to go here, you’ll be soaking up the sun with a drink in your hand in no time.

5. Denver, Colorado

Colorado has always been on the top of my list of places I want to travel. From what I’ve been told, it’s not expensive and great for anyone who loves the outdoors.

Between hiking, skiing, rock climbing, and drinking craft beers, there is something in Colorado for everyone. If you are looking into going for a really cheap cost, try going in the summer!

6. San Diego, California

San Diego is one of my favorite places in the world. This past summer, I got the chance to travel here and I’ve never fallen so in love with a place.

The great thing about San Diego is that the flights aren’t that expensive and when you are there, all of the fun activities are basically free.

You can spend your days on pacific beach, visiting seals at La Jolla Cove, drinking your at Gaslamp and so much more. It’s definitely a trip you won’t regret.
