Wow, I can’t believe it’s already been nearly 5 years since Reflect & Refresh was born! If you don’t know of me already, my name is Sarah and I am the founder and editorial director of this holistic wellness website.
From the bottom of my heart, I want to thank you so much for following our website and taking the time to read the thought-provoking and fun posts that our writers tirelessly work on for you to read! We hope that the stories and the accompanying insight you have been reading align with the mission statement of our website.
With our 5th anniversary approaching, it prompted me to reflect on how we can enhance the content and focus of our website so that it aligns with all aspects of wellness, because it doesn’t only consist of eating the right foods and exercising.
As a nutrition and wellness consultant, I emphasize the importance of a multi-dimensional approach to living out a healthy lifestyle, because what you eat will affect how you feel, and how you feel will affect your relationships, career, your attitude, and beliefs on the world and the people around you.
Through research and some digging, I learned of the Six Dimensions of Wellness model, which was created by the The National Wellness Institute (NWI). It sounds so ominous, right? Thankfully, it’s a lot less complicated and intimidating than it sounds.
So, without further ado, here is the Six Dimensions of Wellness model!
On its official fact sheet, it states, “By applying the model, a person becomes aware of the interconnectedness of each dimension and how they contribute to healthy living.”
With Reflect & Refresh being a website that focuses on wellness, I believe that taking the direction to expand our sections to cover the six dimensions of wellness is a smart and great step/direction towards being a more expansive and thorough resource in educating, encouraging, motivating, and speaking truth to our readers.
