We’ve all had those days where our alarm goes off, we hit the snooze button, and we end up being late to where we need to be.
Let’s face it: getting to where you need to be in the mornings can be tough and trying to fit in breakfast can be even harder!
Here are some quick and easy breakfast ideas for all those times you are in a hurry.
1. Peanut Butter and Banana Toast
Peanut butter and banana toast is one of my go-to breakfast ideas because it is just too good! All you have to do is pop some toast in which literally takes two seconds and cut up the banana while you wait. To make this breakfast even better, try adding a little honey!
2. Avocado Toast
Another favorite of mine is avocado toast. I like this breakfast idea so much because not only is it quick and easy, but there are so many different variations of it depending on what you like.
Personally, I like to put an avocado, an egg, a little salt and pepper and some sriracha sauce! You can also add things like tomato, onions, and cheese.
3. Smoothies
Smoothies are perfect and delicious for all of you who find yourself in a time crunch in the mornings. Once again, what goes in the smoothie is completely up to you!
I usually buy bags of mixed frozen fruits at the store and add those with almond milk to mine, but it’s all about what you like.
You can go for something sweet or you can do a green smoothie depending on how you feel.
4. Breakfast Bars
Despite what people think, there is nothing wrong with having a breakfast bar if you are really in a rush. They may contain a combination of fruits and nuts, but some also have a bit of chocolate.
Breakfast bars are specifically designed to give you the proper nutrients and a kick start to your day.
5. Greek Yogurt
Greek yogurt is packed with protein that will give you a great amount of energy to start your day.
Something that I like to do with my Greek yogurt is to add fruit and granola to make it tastier and a lot more filling!
6. Smoothie Bowls
Do you know what’s better than a smoothie? A smoothie bowl!
Smoothie bowls are exactly what they sound like and they are very trendy right now. If you’ve ever had an acai bowl, they are basically the same thing just without the acai.
Like a smoothie, you can pick what you want to go in the bowl. You can pick all your favorite fruits and flavors and even add things like granola and nuts on the top.
7. Breakfast Burritos
If you are a Mexican lover like myself, breakfast burritos are the way to go. All you need to do is cook some eggs, and add some cheese, salsa, and jalapeños.
With minimal prep, your breakfast burrito will be ready in no time.
8. Overnight Oats
The great thing about oats is that they can be left overnight.
Oatmeal is one of my favorite breakfast meals, but I know how long it can take to cook them. Try cooking your oatmeal the night before, put it in the fridge, and warm it up in the morning.
9. Fruit and Peanut Butter Dip
All you have to do for this is whip together a half a cup of peanut butter, cut up some fresh fruit such as bananas, strawberries, apples, and chow down!
10. English Muffin Pizza
I discovered this last one online recently and boy is it good! Basically, all you do is cut up a tomato and some cheese, drizzle olive oil and put it on the English muffin. You can even put an egg on it for the morning. You will not be disappointed!
